The story of Job is generally seen as a depressing one, but it actually has some encouraging lessons for every Christian, as we are privileged to see what Job could not see. The attack on Job’s life was under God’s control, and He only allowed it to show the devil that Job’s loyalty to Him was not based on the blessings that he enjoyed. God put a hedge around Job that protected him against the devil who goes around like a lion, seeking whom he may devour.
